What’s This All About?
Hello, my name is Brandon Saul. I am a photographer based in central Ohio. I am also a Christ follower, Father of three, and Husband.
Why blog? Seems like a fairly popular thing to do.
Why not? We could say the same thing about social media, but we’re all on it. Why not try and make a habit of writing and sharing my thoughts, values, creative projects, and more with the world and start a discussion. Worst that can happen is that I’ll get better at writing and have a long list of posts to show that I committed and worked hard on something to compliment my photography and projects.
What will you write about?
Knowing that I am a Christ follower, Husband, Father, Photographer, and outdoor enthusiast, It will most likely reflect a combination of it all. Primarily I plan to write about creative projects I am working on, new things I am trying and have tried (like shooting film, landscape photography, etc.), and occasional discussions about life.
I still have a full-time job and a family, so by all means I do not expect to get up every day and cook up a blog post along with eggs and a bottle of baby formula. However, I do believe this is a creative goal for myself and I will have a routine to writing a post regularly (such as once or twice a month).
Why should I subscribe to your email list?
As stated above, I will have some type of regularity with my posting schedule, but I will also send out information on my print sales, new and upcoming books and projects, as well as offering photography services to local customers. At the end of the day, subscribe if you want to and if you will find value in reading what I write.
New Plans in 2021
The year 2020 was rough for a lot of people, and there certainly was a lot of suffering, violence, and overall getting used to a new way of life. I am not going to go into detail of why it was difficult, as we all well know and have experienced it. What I will do, however, is look into the new year and expect it to be different, at least for myself and my family. Last year was not really at all rough for my family and I, we had what we needed and I kept my full-time job so not much changed so we consider ourselves extremely blessed by God, and are doing what we can to help others who have not been as fortunate. What I will say is that it brought us what we really needed, a reality check.
We all can get very comfortable in our lives and not explore anything that involves risk, sacrifice, or even a slight change from the usual. This past year was full of days at home, contemplating our existence and what we wanted to change in our lives. Long story short, it made us focus on what was really important to us, what we wanted from life, what we wanted to do to contribute to the world and His Kingdom, and most importantly what we were going to do to get there.
I hope all is well with you, the reader, and those close to you. I challenge you to do what you can to see this new year in a new light and plan to make changes to not only improve your quality of life, but most importantly to help others be reminded of the value of life and what they can do to live an intentional life full of purpose.
Regards,
Brandon
